NOW YOU’RE AFRAID OF YOURSELF
t h e . l o o k i n g . g l a s s
,HAIR:
Dull-colored red hair that appears more fiery when the sun has been hitting it, i.e. summer and spring.
,EYES:
Bright brown with hints of chocolate brown near the edges.
,BODY AND HEIGHT:
Ginny is thin and petite; she has quite a small frame. Her legs appear short because she stands at a mere 5'1" which is why she enjoys wearing short shorts due to the fact that they make her legs look longer.
,MARKINGS:
She has few distinguishable marks, though her notorious Weasley freckles scattered across the tops of her cheeks do, indeed, present her in a unique light. She has a few random scars here and there from running into things, the most noticeable being a pink scar on her abdomen just below her left breast.
,CLOTHING/STYLE:
Ginny has a varied style of clothing. At school she can mostly be seen in her house or Quidditch robes. During the fall and winter months, she generally wears skinny jeans, plain sneakers, and a cardigan or sweater. She occasionally will wear jeans on a cool spring day, as well. In spring she likes to wear shorts to show off her legs, and loose-fitting tank tops or short-sleeved shirts. Her favorite colors to wear are red, blue, and tan. She doesn't really like flowery clothes unless it's a dress. She likes dresses, but they're usually more on the 'sexy' side than cute side.
,ANYTHING ELSE:
She has a heart-shaped face. Also, when her jaw is set, she looks very much like Fred and George.

OVER YOUR SHOULDER YOU HAVE TO WATCH
t h e . p e r s o n a l i t y
- Quidditch. Ginny has been on the Quidditch team since her fourth year. She has always loved Quidditch, especially since her brothers also enjoy the sport. She attended the Quidditch World Cup with her father, brothers, Harry, and Hermione in the summer before her third year. Her favorite team is the Holyhead Harpies and she hopes to be on the team someday.
- Family. Even though they can be annoying, Ginny loves her family. Her brothers Fred and George are hysterical and while Ron constantly bugs her, she knows he does it out of protection and love. She thinks the world of Charlie and Bill, though has her tiffs with Percy considering what mess he's putting their mother through; however, overall, Ginny loves her family, and is definitely a daddy's girl.
- Activity. Ginny hates being bored and doing nothing unless she's sleeping. She dislikes studying all the time, which is evident by her average grades spare DADA and Charms where she scores high from her natural talent.
- Casting spells. She's been told she does very well in Charms as a whole and her spell-casting is nearly impeccable.
- Hanging out with friends. Ginny doesn't like being alone, especially given the current climate. Her friends, however, give her not only a sense of protection but make her happy.
,DISLIKES:
- Backstabbers. Ginny thinks it's awful to lie to someone to their face and then completely turn your back on them.
- Draco Malfoy. The fact that Draco is so disdainful toward Harry makes Ginny cringe; she can't stand the boy. His being in Slytheirn doesn't help, either.
- Being told what to do. Ginny is pretty independent and doesn't like being bossed around. In fact, you can nearly guarantee she won't back down from something worth arguing for. This is the source for most of her and her mother's fights; she simply doesn't like being told to do something. Asking is one thing, telling is another.
- Being undermined. Because of her size, more often than not, Ginny is looked down upon. She doesn't strike fear into others, which she doesn't want to anyway, but the fact is that people underestimate her.
- Bertie Bott's Beans. Ever since Ginny got a eye bogie flavoured bean, she refuses to eat them.
,STRENGTHS:
- Spell-casting. Ginny has a lot of magical power, considering her fully-formed Patronus and excellent Bat-Bogey Hex.
- Imitating others. She has a knack for being able to imitate other people's expressions and voices.
- Witty. Ginny is a sassy and witty girl who has a canny ability to lift spirits of people around her.
- Independent. She hasn't always been the outgoing and secure girl she has become, but as of last year, Ginny has been confident in herself and in her abilities, and asserts her independence.
- Quidditch. Along with it being her favourite sport, Ginny is also very good at Quidditch. She currently plays as Chaser for Gryffindor.
,WEAKNESSES:
- Harry Potter. When Ginny met Harry at age 10, she was immediately smitten. After their brief meeting, she constantly got shy and clumsy whenever he was around. Although they aren't dating and she can act composed around him, Ginny still has a soft spot for Harry that makes her feel vulnerable. She tries to hold her own around him and act calmly like Hermione, though sometimes it proves difficult.
- Her temper. Ginny can be very temperamental, especially if someone brings up a touchy subject. It goes hand-in-hand with her dislike for authority; if someone brings up a subject with her simply because it's something they don't like her involved in, she can get very angry.
- A desire to win. She dislikes losing Quidditch matches and duels, which makes her very competitive. Sometimes her competitiveness gets the better of her and gets her into some sticky situations, like an argument with a friend, but her desire to win can also be considered a strength.
- Controlling. Ginny can definitely be controlling at times. She isn't afraid to speak up and tell someone they need to do something, which is contradictory to her own disdain for authority. It's almost as if her dislike of being controlled makes her try and control other people so they don't get the inclincation to control her. Her controlling nature has died down a lot since her reassertiveness of her confidence and independence, but it can creep up.
- Schoolwork. Ginny doesn't do particularly well in school at all spare Charms and DADA. She seeks tutoring from smart friends, Hermione especially, and while she does her own work, she often feels it isn't good enough.
,PRIORITIES:
- To graduate Hogwarts.
- To help her friends, especially Harry, as they prepare for Voldemort's new rise to power.
,BOGGART:
Ginny's greatest fear is being possessed by Voldemort again. Her next greatest fear is losing her family.
,ERISED:
Ginny's greatest desire is for her family to remain safe. After their experiences, she's afraid of losing any one of her family members.
,VERITASERUM:
Ginny holds her secret dear; she secretly wishes Harry would return her feelings.
,PATRONUS:
Proven through her training with Dumbledore's Army, Ginny's Patronus takes the form of a horse. Her happiest memory is seeing her father after he was attacked by Nagini; the fact that he was alive made her so overwhelmed with joy.
,PENSIEVE:
Ginny's worst memory is waking up in the Chamber of Secrets after being possessed by Voldemort. While she was relieved to see Harry had come to her rescue, she was confused about what all she had done and angry with herself when she realized what she'd done.
,PERSONALITY OVERVIEW:
Ginny is a sassy, witty, caring young woman. She enjoys playing Quidditch and does very well as Chaser. Her friends are in no short supply due to her bubbly and upbeat nature; her positive demeanor allows others to expose their true selves to her and she feels that is a great way for her relationships to become even better. She has a temper, for sure, but she attempts to keep it under control. She doesn't like being bullied or told what to do, which is a bit hypocritical of her because of her controlling tendencies. Ginny is adamant that nothing is impossible if you have enough nerve. She's very brave and sticks up for her friends, which makes her loyal, as well. She is intelligent about life but despises studying and boring tasks that school brings.

,MOTHER: CMolly Weasley
,SIBLINGS: Charlie, Bill, Percy, Fred, George, Ron
,OTHER FAMILY: A number of Weasley uncles, aunts, and cousins
,SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS: Lower Middle Class
,HISTORY OVERVIEW:
Born as the sole daughter and final child to Arthur and Molly Weasley, Ginny often got a lot of attention from her mother as a baby because she was the only girl. It was sort of like a 'team up against the boys' type of deal, except that as Ginny grew into a child, she wanted to be just like the boys. She was always rough-housing around and getting her clothes dirty outside. In fact, it's a strange coincidence that if Ginny had to consider which parent she was closest to, it would be her father, not her mother. Of course, Ginny has always loved her mum, but at the same time, her and her father have a special bond and she wouldn't give that up for anything in the world.
Ginny witnessed her brothers go off to Hogwarts one by one (or in twos in Fred and George's case) and it disheartened her more and more with each year as opposed to being easier as one might think. She grew emotional as she was able to really understand she was being left behind. She desperately wanted to go off to Hogwarts with her brothers, and that was especially strong when it came to Ron's turn. In an interesting turn of events, Ginny and her mother met Harry Potter while Ron was boarding the Hogwarts Express, and she immediatelly had a crush on him. Of course, it was a mindless crush and she didn't think anything of it, except for when Ron came home that summer and announced his new best friend was Harry Potter, the same boy Ginny's eyes fell upon that day in King's Cross Station.
The next year it was Ginny's turn to go to Hogwarts. Harry was staying with them for the remainder of the summer until school started, which made her completely shy. It wasn't until their run-in with Draco Malfoy at Flourish and Blott's that Ginny finally talked in front of Harry. She was so angry with Malfoy that she completely missed Lucius Malfoy slipping Tom Riddle's diary among her other books. This was a huge setup for what was to come of her first year. When they finally got to Hogwarts, she was sorted into Gryffindor like the other Weasley's before her. After discovering the diary among her books, though, she began writing in it, discovering its secrets. When the attacks started happening to Filch's cat and students, and Ginny couldn't remember where she was at the time of the attacks, she began to think it was her doing them. A few weeks after Christmas, she attempted to get rid of the diary. However, she discovered that Harry had come to have the diary, and so she ransacked his bag, grabbed the diary, and it began to take over her memory once more. Tom Riddle wanted Harry, though. Knowing Harry would come to save Ginny, he forced Ginny to write a farewell note on a hall corridor and go to the Chamber of Secrets to die; Harry did come save her after all and, not aligning with Tom's plans, destroyed the diary.
In the summer of 1993, Ginny traveled to Egypt with the rest of her family to visit her brother Bill. She quite enjoyed the tombs and such, despite the fact that her mother wouldn't allow her into the last one on the tour due to mutant skeletons. The night before they went to Hogwarts for her second year, Ginny and her family stayed at the Leaky Cauldron where they found Harry. She said hello and kept quiet, especially embarassed considering their last run-in had been in the chamber. They eventually shared a laugh on the Hogwarts Express the next day over Percy and his girlrfiend, but their laughter was cut short when Dementors charged the train. Ginny's experience in her first year led her to be greatly effected by the dementors, having to be comforted by Hermione. It was in her second year that she and Hermione became much closer friends, as it turns out, and her comfort on the train was the start of it. Her second year, though, was very boring compared to her first, which was okay by her. Late in the year, however, Harry fell off his broom and she presented him with a card in the Hospital Wing, hoping it would help make him better. Of course, she blushed wildly the whole time.
After her second year ended, Ginny and Hermione got acquainted even more because Hermione was staying with the Weasley's for the summer. Their family, and Harry and Hermione, went to the Quidditch World Cup. This was where Ginny found a huge love for Quidditch; she liked it before, of course, but going to a big event like that made her love the atmosphere of it even more. She was, undoubtedly, shaken by the appearance of Death Eaters at the world cup. She went off to Hogwarts, though, and was surprised when Harry was chosen as a champion. Ginny felt bad for him, and scared, but tried to hide it as Hermione had given her advice to act calmly when hanging out with the trio. Although Ginny was too young to go to the Yule Ball on her own, she was asked by Neville and went with him. It was at the ball that she met Michael Corner, who she started dating at the end of the year.
After Voldemort's official rise to power, the Order of the Phoenix was reconsistuted and her family began living at the headquarters, with Ginny sharing a room with Hermione. She aided her mother that summer cleaning the headquarters to make it suitable. When Harry came to stay, Ginny didn't have a problem being herself because of Hermione's advice and the fact that she was dating Michael. Because of her age she wasn't able to attend the meetings, but Hermione told her everything anyway. She was angry, as the rest of them were, that Harry had to even go to a hearing at the Ministry. However, shew danced and sang with Fred and George when they got word about Harry being off the hook. In September of 1995, she went back to Hogwarts with her brothers and was introduced to Luna Lovegood. Soon after their arrival at school, they discovered Umbridge. When Umbridge's annoying rules were starting to be put in place, specifically ones about not being able to learn spells or practice them, she, Harry, and his friends created the group that would be come to known as Dumbledore's Army - as she named it. Ginny trained hard alongside her new friends, and proved herself a powerful witch with her production of a corporeal Patronus. Just before Christmas, Ginny's worst fear became real - her father was attacked. She and her family were thankful that Arthur wasn't killed, but the seriousness of his injuries stirred anger and fear in Ginny. She knew what Voldemort was capable of in his form of Tom Riddle, but now she knew first-hand what he was capable of as Voldemort. It was a chilling hint of realism and of what was to come. After Christmas, Ginny returned and played Seeker for Gryffindor in her first-ever match, catching the Snitch. She downplayed the whole thing, but she felt it definitely brought her and Harry closer. Harry's vision of Sirius being tortured led to the D.A. going off to the Ministry and taking on Death Eaters. Ginny held her own and survived the ordeal, but unfortunately Sirius did not; Ginny is still suffering from the loss herself, let alone trying to be there for Harry as he suffers the loss even worse.

Quiet was the Burrow that summer's night. Harry, Hermione, and her brothers had all fallen asleep, yet Ginny lay in her bed staring at the window where the moon's light flooded into the dark bedroom. She could hear Hermione's low breathing across the room which made her hesitate in getting up. Her house was old, run-down-like, and the floors creaked when you walked. It wasn't as though there was any way of avoiding it. Ginny didn't mind it, really, just that it made leaving a room with a sleeping person that much harder. She swiftly turned, throwing her legs off the bed and lingering them mid-air. She peeked over the blankets at Hermione who made no sign that she was awake. Ginny looked at her feet hovering in the air and then finally set them down on the cold floor, cringing as a low creeeeak sounded. She bit her lower lip and stood up, cringing still as another low creak slipped from beneath her toes. She looked to Hermione, who lay still, and she finally sighed. Ginny found her way slowly but surely to the door of the bedroom, sneaked out, and left a slit between the door and the threshold so she could get back into the room without being loud.
Ginny quietly made her way down the stairs, stopping for nothing. That was, at least, until she suddenly stopped in the middle of the staircase, staring at a tuft of brown hair attached to the head of a boy sitting on the couch, staring at the wall. Ginny bit her lower lip. As Harry shifted in his seat, she wondered if she should turn back. Did he really want her bothering him so late at night? He'd been through so much. What with the loss of his parents and now the loss of Sirius, Ginny didn't even know where to begin. She didn't know if offering to be there to listen would be appropirate, or if he'd just rather be alone. She was honestly scared to even speak, to move. She was confused. What would she want in that situation? She just didn't know. Ginny closed her eyes and breathed soundlessly, trying to forge a plan in her head. Her attempt was fleeting, though, when she heard the shuffle of the cushion under Harry move. She bit her lip as someone who were just caught and her eyes fluttered open, setting on him as he now stood beside the couch, looking back at her.
"I was just uh...getting some water," she said with a soft smile, proceeding down the stairs once more. She figured if Harry could slip down the stairs without being heard, then she could do the same. Ginny pushed back her hair behind her ear, looking down at her bare feet before looking up at him once more. His green eyes peirced hers and she was forced to look away; after all, she was currently dating Dean. She couldn't go letting Harry back into her heart now, not when she thought that she had him at such a good distance away; they were close enough to consider each other friends, but she felt like she could be happy with someone else instead of obsessing over him. Looking into his eyes, though, made Ginny feel like her heart was melting all over again. As much as she wanted to let that happen, she tried to remain strong. Be confident. Don't be shy. She tried to remember Hermione's words, listening to them over and over in her head as she met Harry's eyes again, but when she opened her mouth to speak, she found nothing. She closed her mouth, gulped, and then chuckled. "Sorry to bother you," she said and offered a smile, turning from him with a nod. Ginny made her way to the kitchen, looking at him over her shoulder briefly before pursuing a cup of water. After all, if he wanted to talk to her, he could easily follow her.
But was it bad that she secretly hoped he did?
